California’s public schools are facing a potential flavor crackdown, with a new bill threatening to ban beloved treats like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos over concerns about artificial dyes.

Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, a Democrat, is spearheading the legislation, arguing that these snacks are harmful to students’ health and their ability to focus in the classroom.

“The science is complex, but the mission is clear,” Gabriel declared during a press briefing. “We’re aiming to shield our students from harmful chemicals that disrupt their learning.”

Critics are slamming the move, arguing that it’s just another example of Democrats sucking the fun out of school life.

“It’s not just about Cheetos,” Gabriel countered. “We’re not outlawing them statewide.”

Yet, it’s hard to ignore the impact on students’ snack choices, with Jolly Ranchers, Froot Loops, and even Mountain Dew also on the chopping block.

If this bill passes, don’t be shocked to see school security stepping in to inspect students’ snack-stained fingers. It’s a slippery slope, and soon detention could be the norm for cheese-crusted digits.

As the snack ban debate heats up, it’s a reminder of the slippery slope of food restrictions. First, they target Cheetos, then Sour Cream and Onion Pringles, and before you know it, even pork rinds are off the table. Where does it end? And now, we’ve all got the munchies.
