The Leesburg Police Department released a statement detailing the apprehension of Alexandra C. Hopkins, 35, on Monday.

Reportedly, the sword’s blade measured about 14 inches in length.

Hopkins was arrested without any additional altercations.

The following was posted on the Departments Website:

On February 8, 2024, officers responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road, NE, to serve a warrant on a subject. When officers encountered the subject, she swung a sword at one of them and fled into a residence.

Another person in the area reported that the subject also swung the sword at them.

There were no injuries.

She faces multiple charges including Assault on Law Enforcement, Assault, Brandishing a Weapon (twice), and two additional warrants from a different agency.

Currently, Hopkins is detained at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
