Early in the morning hours of Sunday, August 11, 2024, Donald Trump confirmed the reporting of The DC Patriot by endorsing against the indivisible aligned candidates in Saint Johns County Florida. A Donald Trump endorsement in a county race is a rarity, so obviously Trump saw a great need.

With Indivisible seemingly stymied in St. Johns County, Florida, I expect the new focal point to become Flagler County. The Flagler County School Board has been a source of both local and national spotlights, so I predict that is where the attention will be directed.

The concern = Multiple infiltrators have presented Democrat candidates as registered Republicans in order to gain political power in historically Republican areas.

The race = Flagler County School Board Seat 3.

The Candidate = Lauren Ramirez

On the surface a concerned parent that wants to be involved in the school district is a refreshing thing. A deeper look at Ramirez shows that not everything is as it appears. In a July interview with local liberal blogger Flagler Live, Ramirez lists her party affiliation as Republican.

Current incumbent Cheryl Massaro had initially filed to run for re-election, but quickly withdrew and endorsed Ramirez once she entered the race. Massaro (also a registered Republican) was one of two previous school board members advocating for mandatory masking in Flagler County Schools as well as defending sexually explicit books in school libraries. An endorsement of a strong conservative would make no sense for Massaro as she seems to hold no values that align with conservative policy.

Do you support the U.S. government increasing restrictions or a potential ban on TikTok over national security concerns?

Anyone who has been involved in any manner of Flagler County Politics recognizes the name Mike Cocchiola. As the former head of the Flagler County Democrats, he has a reputation as being one of the most progressive people in the county.

As evidenced by his social media posts, Cocchiola is also a rabid Never Trumper.

Cocchiola has spoken highly of Ramirez on multiple occasions. In fact Cocchiola has actually donated money to the Ramirez campaign.

Cocchiola is not the only questionable donor in Ramirez’s list of contributors.

A quick glance shows multiple donations from current Flagler County Commissioner Leann Pennington. Pennington defeated incumbent Joe Mullins in 2022 by relying on Democrats to switch their voter registration in order to win her primary. Pennington also campaigned on a “stop overdevelopment” platform per a 2022 article published in Flagler Live.

The “stop overdevelopment” message has been largely connected to the indivisible duo of Angelica Gross and Lisa Gaglianese of Nocatee. The indivisible duo had been attempting to push through a slate of 3 candidates to sideline all of the incumbent county commissioners in St. Johns County. On Sunday 8/11/2024, Donald Trump endorsed all 3 sitting St. Johns County Commissioners. Gaglianese offered a statement in response to Trump’s endorsement.

Gaglianese was an ally of Pennington during her campaign in 2022.

It is important to note that Conservatives currently have a 2-3 minority on the Flagler County School Board with 2 seats up for election in 2024. Current school board chairman and tried and true MAGA Republican Will Furry has endorsed Vincent Sullivan which is an opponent of Ramirez.

Sullivan has also received the endorsement of the 1776 Project PAC along with District 3 candidate Derek Barrs.

Flagler County has a choice to make in 2024. The County voters can choose to go with the candidate who has all the right people in his corner (Vincent Sullivan), or voters can gamble that I am wrong on hours of research and choose Lauren Ramirez and hope for the best.
