It turns out, the boss is right. We asked him about this being an old story, and he responded with “Look at the responses already, Americans, especially conservatives are asleep at the wheel with what liberals are doing locally, state, and federally to the America we love.”

Michigan’s state House has greenlit bill HB 4474, a contentious piece of legislation that could make it a felony to “intimidate” someone by intentionally using the wrong gender pronouns. This move has sparked outrage among free speech advocates and legal experts.

Under the new bill, causing someone to feel threatened through words could land offenders in prison for up to 5 years or slap them with a hefty fine of up to $10,000. The bill defines “intimidate” as a deliberate and ongoing course of conduct that causes a reasonable individual to feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened.

Also, State Rep. Angela Rigas critiqued, “The state of Michigan is now explicitly allowing the gender delusion issue to be used as a ”˜protected class.’ This opens up numerous issues when it comes to the courts and the continued weaponization of the system against conservatives. We saw similar concerns when they wanted to pass blocks on ”˜conversion’ therapy. It seems Dems want to be in the business of telling people how to think.”

This legislation explicitly includes “sexual orientation” and “gender identity or expression” as protected categories. The bill describes “gender identity or expression” as a gender-related self-identity or expression that may not align with an individual’s assigned sex at birth.

Critics argue that this bill tramples on First Amendment rights. “Make no mistake, those pushing for this legislation will use these policies as a weapon to silence conservative voices and viewpoints grounded in tradition,” warned Distinguished Professor Emeritus William Wagner in an interview with The Daily Wire.

In a related development, Michigan lawmakers have also approved legislation banning “conversion therapy” for minors. This measure aims to prevent mental health professionals from attempting to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of LGBTQ+ youth, marking another step in the Democrats’ push for a pro-LGBTQ+ agenda since taking power.

Plus, former TV Judge Joe Brown reacted to the news and is not a fan. He took to Twitter and shared a headline that read, ”˜Michigan House passes bill where using wrong pronouns ≈ a felony, fineable up to $10,000.”˜ Brown wrote, “This type of abomination must be stopped. This is so obscenely contrary to American 1st A Law that the only fit ”˜Adjectives’ to describe it are profane.”
