Mike Tyson is currently recuperating from an ulcer flare-up that occurred while he was flying cross-country. The incident became severe enough that airline staff had to issue a call for any medical professionals on the plane to step forward.

Tyson was traveling from Miami to Los Angeles on Saturday when he began experiencing discomfort. Despite the flight being near its destination at LAX, Tyson’s pain intensified to the point where flight attendants sought assistance from any medical personnel onboard.

According to Mike Tyson’s representative, as reported by TMZ, Tyson experienced nausea and dizziness approximately 30 minutes before the plane’s scheduled landing due to an ulcer flare-up. Tyson is grateful for the medical staff who were present to assist him during the episode.

Upon arrival at the gate at LAX, paramedics boarded the plane and provided immediate medical attention to Tyson. This information was initially reported by In Touch Weekly.

Tyson’s representative has confirmed that he is now doing “great.” Interestingly, most passengers were reportedly unaware that it was Mike Tyson who experienced the medical emergency. They became aware of the situation when the call for a doctor or nurse appeared on all the in-seat screens, prior to being announced over the aircraft’s PA system.

According to Tyson’s representative, there was indeed a reported two-hour delay in the flight taking off, which was unrelated to Tyson’s condition as he felt fine at that time. The delay was attributed to a mechanical issue with the plane. However, passengers experienced an additional wait of about 25 minutes to disembark the aircraft due to the presence of paramedics attending to Tyson.

Despite the recent health scare, 57-year-old Mike Tyson remains committed to his training for his upcoming boxing match against Jake Paul, scheduled for July.
