Nicki Minaj has publicly apologized to her fans in Amsterdam. Following her release from police custody in the Netherlands, the 41-year-old rapper addressed her supporters outside her hotel in Manchester, England. She expressed her regret for having to cancel a show as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour that evening. In a video circulated by a fan account on social media, Minaj conveyed her love for her fans and expressed her apologies for the unfortunate incident.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Minaj responded to her arrest and expressed gratitude to “everyone who prayed for me today,” while extending her blessings, saying, “May God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination.”
The “Anaconda” artist then delved deeper into the cancellation of her Amsterdam show, detailing the events, “After spending 5-6 hours in a jail cell, my plane still didn’t depart until another 20 minutes after I boarded. The flight lasted only 50 minutes. 50 minutes.”
Explaining further, she stated, “That’s why they went to such lengths, because they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it meant my last 90 minutes in the venue, which would have been until 11:30 pm.” She expressed gratitude towards the venue for their willingness to accommodate her performance beyond the scheduled time.
Concluding her post, Minaj remarked, “So they achieved their goal of preventing me from taking the stage tonight. However, I succeeded in uncovering the truth by documenting and sharing everything in real time. I have extensive video evidence. It’s unbelievable. But I’ll leave it to the lawyers and GOD to handle from here.”
The mother of one then extended her heartfelt apologies to her fans, urging them to “accept my deepest & most sincere apologies. They certainly knew how to strike a blow today, but I believe this too, shall pass.”
Expressing her frustration, Minaj revealed, “They’ve been repeating this pattern over and over again, and I’ve tried diligently to refrain from discussing it because you guys deserve to experience only the positive side. I detest involving you in anything that isn’t solely for entertainment purposes.”
The Grammy nominee assured her fans, “I will not only reschedule the canceled performance, but I’m also going to arrange an additional surprise for everyone who had a ticket for this show. I promise.”
Concluding her message, she reassured fans that her shows in Birmingham and Manchester were still set to proceed as planned.
Minaj initially documented her arrest in an Instagram Live video, later shared on X by a fan account. The footage captured police officers informing Minaj that she was “under arrest” for allegedly “carrying drugs,” before instructing her to enter a van bound for the police station.
In a subsequent Instagram video, Minaj, speaking from behind the camera, engaged with a man in a suit who informed her that officers desired to search her luggage again “because you filmed [the police officer]. ” He doesn’t believe you don’t have more with you than you said.”
Through a series of posts on X on May 25, Minaj asserted that the arrest constituted an effort to “sabotage my tour.”
“They’re receiving substantial payments to attempt to disrupt my tour because numerous individuals are envious of its success, and they can’t benefit from me. They were caught embezzling funds from my travel arrangements/private jets. They were terminated. They became enraged. And so forth,” she stated.
