Sagi and Nofar Shablis, an Israeli couple who relocated to the U.S. two years ago after serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, proudly display the Israeli flag at their business.

This patriotic gesture has unfortunately made their establishment, Ali’s Cookies, the focus of antisemitic harassment, resulting in a significant business downturn sales have plummeted by 50% since October 7.

The postcard was delivered February 24 to Ali’s Cookies, owned by Nofar Shablis. This is the horrific message they received.

“Is there a child rape, torture and murder tunnel under your store? We have the Zyklon B,” said a handwritten note on the other side of the card. “Use discount code ”˜GAS THE JEWS’ to save 10% on your order.”

The couple’s property has suffered severe vandalism; attackers have defaced their building with paint and shattered windows. The harassment escalated when a man barged into the store, intimidating patrons. Nofar Shablis recounted to WAGA-TV some particularly disturbing incidents:

“Some people come in and spit on the floor. We’ve had customers ready to purchase but then refuse, accusing us of supporting murderers. Attempts to desecrate the Israeli flag flying at our storefront have also occurred.”

This alarming situation mirrors the dark times of the 1930s in Germany when Jewish-owned businesses faced boycotts and violent persecution.
