The resounding response from these young patriots is a resounding “Yes!” Their actions serve as a testament to the enduring strength of our nation, a beacon of freedom and bravery in a world that often seems to be slipping into chaos. The red, white, and blue still proudly waves over the land of the free and the home of the brave, thanks to the unwavering commitment of these young Americans to uphold the values that define us as a nation.

In a stunning display of courage, a group of brave young men, alongside UNC Chancellor Lee Roberts, heroically rescued Old Glory from desecration at the hands of a pro-Hamas mob. As the mob hurled bottles and obscenities, a powerful image of the group’s valiant efforts went viral.

Earlier that day, the pro-Hamas mob had removed the American flag and replaced it with a Palestinian flag. This brazen act of disrespect spurred the young patriots and Chancellor Roberts into action. Amidst the chaos, Chancellor Roberts boldly declared, “This university doesn’t belong to a small group of protesters. It belongs to every citizen of North Carolina – everybody in North Carolina. The flag represents all of us.”

Police were eventually forced to use tear gas to disperse the raging mob, resulting in the arrest of several dozen individuals. Shahad Mustafa, a 21-year-old senior, accused the university of siding with Israel and using violence against the protesters.

However, as the American flag was raised once more, students chanted “USA, USA,” reaffirming their support for the values the flag represents. Chancellor Roberts asserted, “To take down that flag and put up another flag no matter what other flag it is is antithetical to who we are, what this university stands for, what we have done for 229 years.”

Stock up for Long Term Survival

UNC announced the cancellation of classes and the suspension of “non-mandatory operations” for the day. The students’ actions at the University of North Carolina have resoundingly answered a question every generation of Americans must face: Are we willing to stand up and fight for freedom and the values our flag represents? The students’ resounding “yes!” echoes across the land of the free and the home of the brave, as the star-spangled banner continues to wave proudly.
