The scene at New York University turned chaotic Monday night as a horde of pro-Hamas demonstrators clashed with law enforcement. Video footage of the riot has since emerged, serving as a chilling warning to America that these well-organized attacks may soon be coming to a town near you.
Over 150 activists were arrested after they illegally set up camp on the campus. The NYPD, acting on the university administrators’ request, swiftly cleared out the anti-Semitic mob.
In a statement, the university mentioned that despite giving protesters an hour to disband without consequences, many refused to leave. Additionally, there were reports of intimidating chants and several anti-Semitic incidents. With safety concerns mounting due to the breach, the university sought assistance from the NYPD.
The police urged those on the plaza to disperse peacefully, but ultimately made numerous arrests. The university reiterated its commitment to supporting freedom of expression while prioritizing student safety and maintaining an equitable learning environment.
The mob, now armed with lighted flares reminiscent of the Charlottesville, Virginia mob, marched on NYPD headquarters, further escalating the already tense situation.
