Alan Ritchson, the star of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series “Reacher,” didn’t hold back in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he took aim at President Donald Trump with sharp criticism.

In his scathing remarks, Ritchson didn’t mince words, labeling Trump as “a rapist” and “a con man.” The actor, who identifies as a Christian, expressed his disbelief at the widespread support Trump receives from the Christian community, considering him diametrically opposed to Christian values.

“Trump is a rapist and a con man, yet the entire Christian church seems to champion him as their icon, and it’s baffling to me. I can’t wrap my head around it,” Ritchson remarked.

He went on to explain his personal interpretation of Christianity, emphasizing the importance of love and empathy. For Ritchson, being a Christian means embodying the teachings of Jesus, particularly the notion of self-sacrifice for the benefit of others.

“Christians today have strayed far from the path Jesus set for us. The hostility and division within the Christian community are the opposite of what Jesus preached,” he lamented.

Ritchson didn’t shy away from addressing the troubling issues within the church either, condemning the ongoing cover-ups of abuse and misconduct, particularly within the Catholic Church.

“I can’t in good conscience support an institution that continues to shield individuals with a history of pedophilia,” he declared.

The conversation also touched upon a controversial Instagram post from 2020, where Ritchson advocated for justice in the case of Breonna Taylor’s death, wearing a t-shirt with the message “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.”

In response to Ritchson’s outspokenness, former Former Trump Deputy Assistant Sebastian Gorka didn’t pull any punches, labeling the actor as a “meathead.”
