As Texas is still entangled in a legal battle stand-off with the Biden DOJ, a throng of Illegal Immigrants stormed an ECP (Entry Control Point) in El Paso yesterday. In a caravan of what appeared to be around 300-600 illegal immigrants, an estimated 100 Military Aged Men rushed the opening created within the razor wire, leaving the National Guardsmen seemingly helpless, isolated from their unit, and targets. The razor wire provided a first line of defense, and the Guardsmen at the ECP Gate were able to stave off further penetration into the United States. The video capturing the incident has gone viral, amassing millions of views in under 12 hours. The scene has sent shockwaves through the country, as American’s watched unarmed illegal immigrants push past our military; asking themselves, how could something like this have happened? The timing of General Mike Flynn’s appearance on the weekly “Chelleshocked and Pirate Radio Show” Space on X, couldn’t have come at a better time to get some valuable insight on this incident.

Initially scheduled as a guest on the weekly X space to discuss the release of his film, “FLYNN”, the General was gracious enough to take multiple questions from the audience. When asked about his take on what transpired today in El Paso, General Flynn gave his honest assessment; the rules of engagement were not clear. “You should never place soldiers in positions where that can happen, and we did.” It is painfully obvious that the National Guardsman were not given proper Rules of Engagement (ROE), and if they were, it wasn’t executed. Today’s incident put a microscope on the failing leadership within our ranks, and how quickly a situation can escalate.

The General went on to describe how he watched the clip intently, over and over, and at varying speeds, focusing on the well-being of the soldiers, to make sure that none of them had been trampled, wounded, or died. In these circumstances, it is a very real risk to get knocked over, and trampled to death. He also honed in on the fact that after they’d surged past the first line of defense (the razor wire), the second barrier was being closed, and unknown projectiles started flying over the top of the gate. As soldiers dodged objects being thrown, it was another indication, this was not something that was not planned for, but should have been.

Illegal Immigrants stampede past the razor wire, to be stopped by the ECP Gate, leave 5 troops stranded outside.

Another focal point the General hit on, was the fact that during the rush to secure the second barrier, soldiers were trapped on the other side, severely outnumbered. “What disturbed me was the solider that was right behind the wall (second barrier). And the soldiers that were out front there that got run over at the Concertina wire. It was odd. It seemed like those soldiers didn’t have a place to go to. Were those soldiers just stuck there? And if something went really bad, could those other soldiers have gotten to them quick enough to save them?” The first concern in any situation is the protection of the men and women in uniform, and to be able to give them the resources they need, to execute their mission. It’s clear that their leadership has failed them.

Any mission or operation, starts at the basics of ROE’s, which “should be clear-cut and easy to execute” explained The General. Rules of Engagement by definition are, “Directives issued by competent military authority that delineate the circumstances and limitations under which Under States forces will initiate and/or continue combat engagement with other forces encountered. ROE constrain the action of forces to ensure their actions are consistent with domestic and international law, national policy and objectives.” It’s also worth noting, that ROEs are put forth by the Civilian and Military leadership charged with the operation, to reflect their will. ROEs are the blue-print for executing missions, and contingencies plans in moments where quick pivots are needed.

The harrowing display showed massive weak points within the bones of this operation. If our military can’t keep out unarmed illegals, what happens when the billion dollar backing of Cartels (funding much of the southern border invasion), decide to arm the caravans coming through? General Flynn warns “This is not the first time, and this isn’t going to be the last time it happens”” referring to ECP challenges, as we saw March 21st, 2024. Though the scene was intense to watch, none of our troops were severely injured, and were able to make to safety. It is practice to debrief, and complete “After Action Reports” after any major mission, or mishap, the latter being displayed today. An after action report allows all levels to analyze retrospectively the sequence of events that transpired, siting what worked, and improving upon what didn’t work. It should be everyone’s hope, that a thorough analysis will strengthen the ROEs for the military serving on the border, and the safety of all involved.
