On Tuesday, President Biden called on House Republicans to promptly consider a $95 billion foreign aid bill, primarily focused on providing additional support for Ukraine. Stressing the need for quick action, he urged House Speaker Mike Johnson not to let “a minority of the most extreme voices in the House block this bill from even being voted on.”
Biden highlighted the Senate’s unity in sending a global message and swiftly transitioned to comparing President Trump to terror, tyranny, and Putin.

The President presented two choices for the House: supporting the bill to stand against the Kremlin or opposing it, playing into Putin’s hands. Additionally, he criticized former President Trump’s recent NATO remarks, underlining the alliance’s importance and expressing unwavering commitment to it.

Speaker Johnson signaled reluctance to bring the bill to the House floor due to the absence of tougher border security measures demanded by House Republicans months ago. In a Monday night statement, he mentioned, “In the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters. America deserves better than the Senate’s status quo.”
